We just said goodbye to No Man’s Sky’s fishing-themed Aquarius adventure, but another campaign has already taken its place – this time, it’s one that straddles the line between one reality and another special and weird themed activities.
No Man’s Sky’s Curse adventure begins today for a relatively active three weeks, taking space explorers on an adventure as they navigate a collapsing reality where time may unexpectedly Change, “day spinning into night with dizzying speed.”
That’s not the worst. As players travel through this twilight universe, the boundaries of reality weaken and they are haunted by visions, voices, and ghostly entities from another dimension—some benign, others considerably less so. Developer Hello Games said, “The scale of enemy and boss battles is unprecedented in No Man’s Sky.”
To survive this Wraith onslaught, players must maintain their Anomaly Suppressors – which replace their exoskeleton’s usual dangerous protection – and aboard their Frontier Starship, a new flying saucer inspired by the Gig. Stay safe. With no FTL technology to rely on, they also need to use No Man’s Sky’s ancient network of portals to travel across the universe.
“Haunting voices seep from another dimension, offering guidance, information, strange blueprints… and mystery,” Hello Games teases. “Players must decide who these voices belong to, where they come from, and whether they can be trusted…”
By completing various milestone objectives in Cursed Crusade, players can unlock an array of exclusive rewards, including Cthulhu-inspired horror exosuit customization, bioluminescent pets, and their own UFO-like Frontier Herald starship. The full patch notes for today’s update are available Found on the Hello Games website.
Additionally, the studio confirmed there’s more to No Man’s Sky, including “more surprises” coming “in the coming weeks.” One of these is an update designed specifically to take advantage of the PlayStation 5 Pro’s launch in November, but we haven’t heard much more about a Worlds Part 2 release nor a massive Worlds Part 1 in July News of an update, so maybe before the year is out it will rear its head too.
